What is VPS Hosting?
A VPS/VDS, or virtual private server, is essentially an intermediate stage between regular shared hosting and dedicated servers. A VPS implies that one physical server hosts several isolated virtual servers, one of which is dedicated to you.
On VPS servers, also known as server VPS, from HostPro, resources are distributed using KVM virtualization. You will have a guaranteed amount of CPU time and RAM at your disposal, available at any time of the day or night. Even if one of the VPS servers experiences a sharp increase in traffic or security issues, this will not affect other websites hosted on the same physical server. Also, with KVM, you can install 2 different operating systems on one server and work in them in parallel.
Most customers prefer a universal VPS on the Linux operating system, but a specialized Windows VPS is chosen for projects based on Microsoft software (MSSQL, ASP, ASP.NET, ASP.NET. Core databases). To make managing all aspects of your hosting vps even more comfortable, our technical support will install a control panel for you free of charge: cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, Control Web Panel, or CyberPanel to choose from.

FAQ
What is the difference between VPS and shared hosting?
Shared hosting can be compared to a dorm room. In exchange for a monthly fee, you get a place on a server maintained by a hosting provider. At the same time, your customization options, as well as resources, are limited – memory and computing power are shared among all server users.
How to choose a VPS/VDS server?
There are several key aspects to consider when choosing a VPS/VDS server. First of all, pay attention to the resources: processor (CPU), RAM, disk space, and traffic.
CPU. For small websites and applications, 1-2 cores are enough. For more resource-intensive projects, it is better to choose a server vps with 4 or more cores.
The amount of RAM. For one or more small websites on a virtual server, 2-4 GB will be enough. However, for online stores, news resources, and projects that include many small websites, as well as for other online platforms with high traffic, it is better to choose VPS hosting plans for 8-24 GB.
Disk space. We recommend choosing SSD VPS, as well as dedicated virtual servers on the new generation of SSD NVMe drives to maximize the performance of your sites and applications. Always choose a little more disk space than you need at the beginning to have a margin for future scaling and traffic spikes. We also recommend that you regularly check your disk space usage and clean up unnecessary files to optimize your server VPS performance.
Supported operating systems. Linux VPS (Ubuntu / Debian / CentOS / Fedora) are universal plans that are well suited for corporate websites due to their long life cycle and stability. Linux VPS is the choice of most web applications and development. Windows VPS is suitable for applications that require a Windows environment, such as ASP.NET, or MS SQL, or applications that require specialized software from Microsoft.
VPS hosting location. The choice of location depends on the geographical location of your users. The closer the VPS server is to them, the faster your website or application will load. At HostPro, you can choose a VPS hosting location in Ukraine, Poland, the Netherlands, or the USA.
